Service-Learning Trips

Each year we invite several college and high school groups from as far as Kentucky to spend a week working and learning in the garden and surrounding community. By living in community for a week at the church–and working in the garden in preparing and sharing meals, weeding, mulching, harvesting and making compost.  Through this, young people come away with an inspiration for what community life feels like and the basic knowledge of how to raise a garden.

Several of these groups have gone to their home church or school to start similar projects, returning to Anathoth the following year to receive additional training and inspiration.

If you are a student, youth leader, or teacher and would like for your group to spend a week with our garden community, please contact us for more info.
